CHESS

  Covering the fee for the participation of Elitsa and Rostislav Raevi in the European Chess Championship in Calithea, Greece – trainees of “Pristis” Chess Club, second year scholarship students of the Foundation. Achievements for 2001: Elitsa, 15 – three gold medals (twice Republic Champion) from the Republic Championship for participants under 16; one silver (vice-champion) and three bronze medals at the Republic Individual Championship for women and participants under 18. Champion of Bulgaria at the International Tournament “Seahorse” (chess at school); first place and the “Queen of Turnovo” Cup for girls under 16; first place at the “Pristis” tournament for girls under 20; First prize for girls under 20 at the Open International Championship “Albena”; first prize for women at the Open International Championship “Shabla”; 21st place at the European Chess Championship in Calithea, Greece; bronze medal at the championship for accelerated chess under the age of 14 in Novi Sad; 4th place at the European Championship for Blitz under the age of 14. Rostislav, 18, gold medal (Republic Champion) and bronze medal at the Republic Individual Championship under the age of 18; silver medal at the Republic Team Championship under the age of 18; first place and the “Pristis” Cup for boys under 20; First prize for adolescents aged under 20 at the Open International Championship “Albena”; Third prize at the Open International Championship “Shabla”.
