ON COMING ACTIVITIES AND AMPAIGNS 2002 National Meeting of the UNESCO
Committee for Bulgaria
In the period between 7th – 9th March 2002, a National
Meeting of the coordinators of UNESCO associated schools in Bulgaria
will be held in Rousse, organized by the Ministry of Education. Representatives
of the 56 schools in the system of the international organization will
attend the meeting. The program includes presenting the activities on
the projects: “The individual in a civil society – conflicts and communication”,
“Family culture – spanning generations”, Ecology-based project on the
“Socrates” Program of Vocational School of Electric Technologies – Rousse.
A round-table discussion will be organized on the topic of: “The role
of UNESCO associated schools for improving education”. A concert will
be organized within the framework of the meeting by scholarship students
of the Foundation. The forum will be hosted and sponsored by the “Bistra
and Galina” Foundation. The Foundation undertakes to support the realization
of “March Music Days - 2002” International Festival in Rousse.
Peaceful Alternatives to Conflicts
through Education Project (PACE)
In the period between 16th – 22nd May an International
summer camp “The Art of Synergy” will be organized within the system
of UNESCO associated schools with participants from 24 countries. The
discussion forum will encompass 4 students’ and 2 teachers’ workshops,
visits to language schools with practical activities there, exploration
and development of profiles and modules, setting up Internet discussion
forums. The venue – Rousse region with travelling sessions to schools
in Rousse, Shoumen, Gabrovo and Veliko Turnovo. The event will be held
under the aegis of UNESCO – Paris and organized by Bulgarian Ministry
of Education and SAGE in partnership with and with the financial support
of “Bistra and Galina” Foundation, Rousse Municipality and Rousse Free-Trade
Zone. A press center for the event will be organized on the premises
of the “Bistra and Galina” Hotel.
Classrooms across Borders Project
(CAB)
Financed by Switzerland through the Stability Pact of
the Council of Europe, with head-coordinator Mrs. Yordanka Nenova –
chairperson of School Association for Global Education SAGE; During
the summer of 2002, the Third summer festival of SEE*JOY in Smolyan
is expected to be financed and held for the countries of South-East
Europe. Students from 12 countries: Albania, Romania, Ukraine, Macedonia,
Slovenia, Croatia, Yugoslavia, Greece, Turkey, Bosnia & Herzegovina,
Kosovo region and Bulgaria will gather together again for 10 days in
order to discuss their motivation for joint work in the sphere of civil
education and global human values. Partner of SAGE will be the “Bistra
and Galina” Foundation team of experts.
